It’s the holiday season now, and hopefully everyone is winding down, spending time with their families and trying to enjoy a safe yet satisfying socially distanced Christmas.


Despite sometimes being classed as workaholics, and providing a service that has a big focus your child’s academic and intellectual development, its great to take a break sometimes and put the textbooks down and indulge season of goodwill.


Below you’ll our top 10 (in no particular order) engaging and fun activities for all the family to get involved in that will help develop your child’s social and emotional skills! Enjoy.



  1. Play sports, and board games

  2. Watch a movie together and discuss how you felt about it

  3. Sign up for some virtual volunteering

  4. Have a family quiz (via zoom or otherwise)

  5. Go for a mindful stroll outdoors




6. Keep a diary or journal

7. Practice mindful techniques (like meditation or mindful breathing)

8. Pick up the phone and call a family member you haven’t spoken to for a long time

9. Start an acts of kindness challenge

10. Reflect on the years successes and failures, and write a list of New Years resolutions for 2021
